Dr Abdulgadir Amir

Advisor for Slums Regeneration and Development - Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs

Dr Abdulgader Amir is the Deputy minister for Technical affairs at Ministry of Municipal & Rural Affairs with responsibility for Drafting buildings and regulation polices and guidelines and technical manuals for city civic works and amenities .
Prior to joining MOMRA, Dr Abdulgader Amir worked in senior and high ranking positions  at several companies, including Municipality of Jeddah, Shamayel development company  and Jeddah redevelopment and regeneration company  mention firms you have previously worked for.Notable is his/her 10 years as vice and mayor and deputy minister for Momra and Municipality of Jeddah.
Dr Abdulgader Amir received masters and PhD Degree for the USA in architecture and urban planning from university of Washington 1990, Georgia Institute of Technology 1998 respectively  from 1990 t0 1998.

Eyad M. Fadul

Advisor, Vision Realization Office (VRO) - Ministry of Hajj and Umra, Jeddah

Eyad Fadul currently serve as an advisor for the Vision Realization Office (VRO) for the Ministry of Hajj and Umra in the capacity of project manager and consultant. He is responsible for delivering the International Oasis initiative, as part of plans to achieve the National Transformation Program NTP goals, he is a Torch barrier leading urban design, knowledge, financial, marketing and legal consultant’s teams.

Eyad has over 17 years of professional experience in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design fields including project management, in local and international firms such as zuhair fayez partnership, Fluor Arabia and AECOM.

He also taught professional Landscape architecture courses at King Abdul Aziz university, and has experience in CSR field through managing Friend of Jeddah Parks (NGO).

Eyad has a Master's degree, Architecture and Urban Design from College of Fine Arts, Helwan university, Cairo, Egypt.

And a Bachelor's degree, Landscape Architecture from School of environmental design, King AbdulAziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Scott Henshaw

Scott leads the master planning, design and engineering of The Red Sea Project – the world’s most ambitious luxury tourism development and one of the giga projects under Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund. 
He has over 25 years of experience in master planning, landscape architecture, golf course design and site construction, delivering luxury resorts and lifestyle communities internationally. Scott has previously worked for real estate developers Dubai Multi Commodities Center (DMCC), DAMAC Properties, The Greg Norman Company and MKM Commercial Services.

Nuha Eltinay

Director of Urban Planning and Sustainable Development - City Development Strategy (CDS)

Nuha Eltinay is an award-winning spatial planner and licentiate Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI),MA holder of International Planning from University of Westminster, and current PhD Researcher at London South Bank University (LSBU). Nuha was appointed in 2014 as the director of Urban Planning and Sustainable Development at the Arab Urban Development Institute (AUDI). Eltinay operates three main programmes for AUDI City Development Strategy with focus on Child Friendly Cities Urban Planning, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), and Smart Cities Urbanism. With regional experience in interconnecting smart cities infrastructure and smart citizenry, Eltinay presented these concepts at several National, Regional and International platforms. Galal Abada

Advisor, Planning, Studies and Development - Madinah Development Authority

I am an architecture, urban design, and planning advisor and consultant. I am currently the planning and development advisor for the Madinah Development Authority MDA, KSA (2010-todate), where I am advising the planning of the future development of Madinah. Also, I am an associate professor of architecture and urban design at Ain Shams University in Cairo ASU since 2005 (on leave). I was trained at Ain Shams University ASU (B,Sc. & M.Arch.) the Institute for Housing and Urban Studies IHS, Rotterdam, the Netherlands (Diploma), Ecole Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris-Belleville (Diploma), and the University of Leuven, Belgium, (M.Sc.). I have received a Ph.D. in Urban Design from Stuttgart University, Germany.

For more than 25 years, I have been provided outstanding technical contributions to a wide range of multidisciplinary urban projects of various scales; from city and masterplanning to urban and detailed design. I have carried out various technical, consultancy assignments and advisory services for a number of public agencies, private bodies and some international organizations. My designed and built projects as well as several winning competitions are located in Egypt as well as in some locations in Belgium, Germany and Saudi Arabia.

I am specialized in developing linkage between the urbanism, cultural and environmental, institutional development, and its relationship to the multi-dimensional design, planning and management activities of various development projects. My notable capacity to translate vast amounts of information and multi-dimensional ideas into pragmatic solutions is demonstrated thorough my understanding of complex projects from design concept and preliminaries to detailed design. I have a long and advanced professional experience in business development and project acquisitions, contracts and tender management, supported by solid client relations and proficient and program management skills.

Dr. Giancarlo Mangone

Giancarlo Mangone, PhD, M. Arch., works on maximizing the sustainable performance of buildings, landscapes, and communities, both as a Master Urban Planner at Buro Happold and as Prinicipal of Symbiosis: Sustainable Design + Consulting, in close collaboration w/ municipalities, communities, and developers throughout the world.

Giancarlo's unique interdisciplinary + multiscalar social, economic, +technical infrastructure driven community development expertise, from the scale of buildings to cities+regions, is recognized internationally as pushing the boundaries of a project's social, economic, and ecological performance, and the ability of design to improve people's quality of life, through his development of award winning projects with deeply interdisciplinary and cutting edge project teams, such as experts in sustainable business development, psychology, public policy, + engineering, and invited collaborations with leading design + engineering firms, including Buro Happold, AECOM, Ken Yeang, Schmidt Hammer Lassen, William McDonough+ Partners, Transsolar, LOLA landscape architects, and Mecanoo.

Giancarlo is regularly invited to lecture + give workshops on his innovative work internationally, including the Canadian Museum of Nature, City of Jakarta, Institute of Sustainable Urbanism, University of Sydney, serve on technical committees of international sustainable city conferences, and participate as a Guest Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Guest Researcher at Delft University of Technology. Muhammad Majid Khan

Garden Engineer (Jeddah Municipality) - WSP Middle East

Majid Khan is the only architect of the garden at WSP-pb (Parsons Brinckeroff), which is provided for the care of Jeddah Municipality in all O&M (15 running projects) and CMS (4 running projects) works. He has delivered 6 walkways (Yamama, AlSafa, UmAlkhir, Alsamir, AlGhulail & Jamia) and 3 garden projects.

Prior to joining WSP, Khan has a versatile experience in the field of construction supervision of projects ranging from landscape, golf course and infrastructure projects of International stature with renowned developers and clients (EMAAR, RPGCC, MODON, Royal Commission Yanbu & Jazan) and consultants Mouchel, CH2M, NESPAK. Notable is his 7 years as Golf Course Superintendent/Architect for RPGCC.

Khan received MSc degree in Turf Management from UAF from 1997 to 2000. His professional interests includes Turf Management and Innovation in low cost Garden Projects Maintenance.

In addition, he is a Member of Golf Course Superintendent Association of India and Saudi Council of Engineer
Khan was recently honored with the Guinness World record for his contributions to the 11th Flower festival Yanbu designed, executed and maintained, received officially Amazing from Guinness book of records.

Samer Kahil

Dr Sebastian Pfautsch

Senior Researcher - Urban Ecosystem Research - Western Sydney University

Dr Sebastian Pfautsch is a Senior Researcher in Urban Ecosystem Science at Western Sydney University. Sebastian received his PhD (summa cum laude) in forest ecosystem science from the University of Freiburg, Germany in 2007. He investigates effects of global change and extreme climate evens on natural and urban ecosystems with a focus on physiology and hydraulic functioning of trees. In his role as Research Theme Fellow (Environment and Sustainability) at Western Sydney University he develops applied science projects that allow government and industry to optimize strategies and practices to mitigate urban heat and ’climate-proof’ cities. He uses his detailed understanding of trees, microclimate, ecohydrology and management of natural resources to deliver functional concepts for cooling in parks, playgrounds, schools, carparks and many more components of the urban matrix. He has published 69 articles and books, which were cited more than 1300 times. Research led by Dr Pfautsch has brought vegetated green track to the new Parramatta Light Rail line. His latest work includes a series of reports that benchmark heat across local government areas of Greater Sydney.

Maher Abdel-Rahim

Principal, Urban Design and Masterplanning - Parsons

An Architect and Urban Designer with over 15 years of experience. Prior to joining Parsons in June 2017, Maher worked at Atkins, also in Dubai. This experience focused on a number of large and XL scale projects in the region came after 10 years of working in Toronto, Canada as an Urban Designer and Associate Partner at Bousfields Inc.

Maher's interests range from developing intensification high-rise projects in urban areas to less-compact forms of developments in sub-urban areas, residential communities and recreational destinations. He has led masterplans, prepared urban design and planning reports, coordinated development applications, participated in public consultations, and provided planning witness statements before municipal boards.

Furthermore, Maher plays an integral role in acting as a mediator between private developers, authorities, and community representatives. His experience, which focuses on day-to-day management of projects and carrying out a wide range of tasks on each, requires strong communication and negotiation skills. In this, Maher relies on his understanding of local contexts, regulatory framework, economics, and design.

Dima Attar

Khalid Meccai

Manager - Sales, Marketing & Technical Support - ALYAF Industrial Co. Ltd

Khalid Meccai started his professional education with a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology. After a brief stint in textile industry he completed his Master’s degree in Technology in the year 1984 with a specialization in Geotextiles. Since then for the past 34 years he has been involved extensively in various facets of geotextile/geosynthetics usage.
In 1996 he joined ALYAF Industrial Company, Saudi Arabia, and went on to head its technical support department for over 20 years. During this period he has been extensively involved in the design and construction of geosynthetics based civil engineering solutions in applications like soil stabilization, drainage, marine structures, landfills, etc. He brings in extensive hands-on experience of the geotechnical environment in the GCC and the specific demands on the Geosynthetic based solutions to suit them. He has been involved in the design and selection of geosynthetics for some of the largest Geotechnical and environmental engineering projects in the GCC.
He has over ten technical papers to this credit including: “Geotextiles in Transportation Applications” paper presented at the Second Gulf Conference on Roads at Abu Dhabi, March 2004.
